NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 8, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — ConsejoSano, a multicultural patient engagement platform for payers, providers and health systems, announced today that Dr. Molly J. Coye has joined ConsejoSano’s board of directors. Dr. Coye brings over 40 years of expertise in identifying and deploying innovation across large scale patient populations. She has previously held senior roles at top healthcare programs, including Chief Innovation Officer of UCLA Health, Director of the California State Department of Health Services, and Commissioner of Health for the State of New Jersey.
Dr. Coye served as a member of the board of directors of Aetna, Inc, from 2005-2015, and of multiple other organizations including the American Telemedicine Association, the American Hospital Association, and the American Public Health Association. She is also currently a board member at Ginger.IO, and serves as an advisor on disruptive healthcare technologies and business models for innovators, health systems, policy makers and investors. “Molly has been on the forefront of healthcare innovation and transformation for decades and continues to be a dynamic leader in the industry’s evolution. Her commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of underserved and vulnerable populations aligns perfectly with ConsejoSano’s mission,” said ConsejoSano founder and CEO Abner Mason. “We are thrilled that she has joined the board at ConsejoSano.”
“America’s underserved populations, including Medicaid, Medicare, veterans, and many diverse cultural and linguistic groups are often overlooked by technology innovation. ConsejoSano is among the growing leaders in changing this,” said Dr. Coye. “I am looking forward to contributing to its continued success.”
In addition to her newly elected role as board of director at ConsejoSano, Dr. Coye is Executive in Residence at AVIA, the nation’s leading network for health provider systems seeking to innovate and transform through the deployment of digital solutions. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine). Her addition to the ConsejoSano board is effectively immediately.
ConsejoSano has announced Dr. Coye’s appointment to its board in advance of its upcoming attendance at the Health Evolution Summit (HES), an invitation-only retreat of healthcare industry leaders held April 10-12, 2019 in Laguna Niguel, CA.
