This trend has been on the rise for some time, and will continue into 2018, as employees expect their employers to be invested in both their physical and emotional well-being. Additionally, employers are educating employees that HSAs can be used for unconventional expenses such as physical therapy, psychiatric care, alcoholism treatment, and drug addiction treatment.
Student loan assistance. This is a major issue for many employees struggling to pay off large student loans. Some employers are matching the amount of money their employees pay toward student loans each month by contributing to their employees' retirement accounts.
Unlimited paid time off. Rather than divide personal time into personal, sick, and vacation days, many employers are providing their employees with unlimited PTO. The ability to work remotely is one of the drivers of this trend. This practice is extremely attractive to the millennials in the workplace.
