NutraScience Labs “Wraps Up” 2017 with Holiday Food Drive, Donates 500 Pounds of Goods to Island Harvest

NutraScience Labs wrapped up its 2017 winter food drive just in time for the Holidays. From November to December, employees collected and then donated 500 pounds of non-perishable and canned goods for distribution by Island Harvest to their network of shelters, food pantries, and other community outreach centers across Long Island.

“As we make our way through the holidays and the winter months, it's important to remember that there are so many opportunities for us to make a difference in the lives of our fellow Long Islanders. In today's fast-paced world, I think it's become all too easy for us to forget that sometimes those opportunities can be as simple as taking the time to pick up an extra bag of groceries," said Vincent Tricarico, Vice President of Contract Manufacturing. Mr. Tricarico went on to add, “Island Harvest Food Drives have become an employee favorite here at NutraScience Labs. We're all very much looking forward to working with them again in the year ahead."

Founded in 1992, Island Harvest has spent the last 25-years working to “end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island." Since then, and with the help of their network of more than 570 Long Island-based soup kitchens and other non-profit community organizations, Island Harvest has delivered over 130 million pounds of food (translating to upwards of 108 million meals) to Long Islanders in need.

In addition to Island Harvest, NutraScience Labs raised funds and participated in events over the course of 2017 that benefited local and national charitable organizations including the Marcum Workplace Challenge, the Wounded Warrior Project™, and Movember.
