Masks.com Launches Nationwide Mask Drive For Schools, Chooses Hanes As Mask Supplier

AUSTIN, Texas, July 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Masks.com, the premier online retailer of premium reusable face masks, has launched a massive initiative to send reusable cotton masks to thousands of schools in the United States over the next two months. Dubbed the “Great American Mask Drive”, Masks.com has developed and deployed technology to enable local-level crowdfunding campaigns for community-led mask donations to over 75,000 US schools. Masks.com has chosen Hanesbrands Inc. as its exclusive supplier for this campaign. Hanes, America’s leading apparel basics company, will supply 3-ply, 100% cotton washable & reusable masks for the initiative.

Founder & CEO of Masks.com Inc., Bradley Markham, says the Great American Mask Drive is believed to be the largest such endeavor ever realized. “We have created over 75,000 individual concurrent crowdfunding campaigns corresponding to each of the public elementary and middle schools in the United States. At the conclusion of the campaigns, we’ll work with our supplier for this project, Hanes, to send the donated masks directly to the schools, and each school can then use the masks as they see fit for their particular situation.”

By using the power of crowdfunding at scale, Masks.com is able to keep the price per donated reusable mask to a maximum of $1.50. “We are so pleased to be working with Hanes to offer high quality reusable masks at scale and at a price that enables maximum impact”, says Markham.

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc, the CDC has recommended non-medical cloth face coverings to help limit the spread of the disease. Meanwhile, the reopening of schools will be difficult without masking policies in place. Masks.com says it hopes that by providing millions of masks to schools around the country, it can help not only limit the spread of the disease, but also facilitate the reopening of schools.

“Our primary goal is twofold. First and foremost, we recognize that the wearing of non-medical reusable masks is vital to limiting the spread of this deadly virus. So the more masks we can get out into communities, the better. But we also recognize that we need to get kids back to school – it’s key not only to their education but also to enabling their parents to return to work.”

Mask donation webpages for each of the 75,000 schools can be found at http://www.masks.com and the public can start donating masks via the Great American Mask Drive starting July 4th, 2020.
